I'm not sure how you begin writing about yourself, so I'll just continue typing. My name is Daniel Eiseman andI am a twenty- year-old singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. I've been playing guitar and writing songs forten years and during that time I have gone from being an avid "pop" listener to an R&B lover; I've been mesmerized by the blues and the great guitar players of the world and then I come back to "pop" again. My love for the hook in a song, and my interest in a variety of music, has defined me as a song-writer and guitarist.
I have also always loved the process of recording music, which often goes unnoticed. In addition to the chords, melodies and lyrics, that process equally defines the sound of a song and the artist. Since I began writing and recording music (when I plugged in a quarter-inch microphone into my now outdated computer to record clips of young me's songwriting attempts), I have had the natural habit of refining it continuously throughout the process. I have spent countless hours with my computer, allowing me to grow not only as a songwriter, guitarist and singer, but also as a producer and arranger. Admittedly a perfectionist, I thrive in that atmosphere.
Just as I am in love with the act of creating the song, the sound, the image, the package (and partner) of the music, I also am consistently working hard to become a better performer. In the past few years, my time playing in bands and other musicians has been part of growing as a performer. Growing up in the age of the internet has also enabled me to watch thousands of videos of great artists performing live, study their habits, and incorporate the qualities that I feel make them successful into my performances. Becoming a better listener and observer has also encouraged me to learn other instruments, such as drums, bass, and keyboard. The last few years, outside of the classroom, most of my time has been spent writing and recording, trying to simulate the sound of a band, which may have been the best thing for me. I wrote a new group of songs and revisited old ones, all through the process of that back-and-forth writing, recording, and refining, to build, what I hope, is a fresh and authentic sound.
I knew the time was right for me to get into a studio and turn the recordings I've made in my room into something I could display on a professional level. I spent the summer of 2010 driving out to New Jersey working tirelessly recording thirteen songs that have become my first album, titled "All Out". This title represents how I want to be seen and understood in relation to the lyrics and music I have written. Working with a great person and producer, Jake Antelis, I recorded this album without a formed band so I wouldn't lose the sound, vision, and connection to the songs I've developed over the past couple of years.
I have heard successful people say, "If you want to be successful, you have to define your goals". It sounds simple, but my goals are big ones. Over what I hope will be a long career as an artist in the music industry, I will consistently renew my dedication to being someone who creates music, plays for crowds of three people and thousands, writes and produces music, not just for myself, but for others, and establishes himself as a guitarist, musician, and songwriter.
My main goal, however, is to always stay listenable. I hope that as many people as possible enjoy my music. If you like what you hear, please help spread the word (it works better than you might think!)
I'd like to thank my family, friends and anyone who has helped me along the way for all their support. Additionally, I'd like to thank my friend, co-producer, and drummer, Jake Antelis, his brother Ben (drums), Ted Motz (bass), Elan Kiderman (Violin), and Jeffrey A Steinberg (Photography). It was a pleasure working with all of you.
Stay tuned,
DE
"Bottom line...Daniel Eiseman is a shooting star that is destined for greatness in his music career. This kid can flat out sing, write, and play his guitar...Daniel starts his "All Out" album with one of the best songs of 2011 - "Forever
Waiting." This song deserves TV, Film, and Radio spins."
